Terms of Service

As a nonprofit choosing to participate and collaborate as a benefitting partner, 35 Hours of Giving requires that you enter into this Memorandum of Understanding which sets forth the services and duties provided by the 35 Hours of Giving, as well as the roles and responsibilities of all participants.

Organizational Eligibility
  1. My organization is a 501(c)(3) and will provide its EIN, contact information, and a representative’s details for verification.
  2. My organization is legally authorized to fundraise in Michigan and is registered with the Michigan Attorney General’s office in accordance with the Michigan Organizations and Solicitations Act.
  3. My organization operates in, serves, or conducts activities in Ingham, Clinton, or Eaton County, Michigan.
Marketing & Promotion
  1. My organization will focus its marketing efforts leading up to 35 Hours of Giving to generate excitement among donors, volunteers, media partners, and fellow nonprofits.
  2. If participating in media interviews (e.g., newspaper, online, TV, radio), I will represent all nonprofits participating in 35 Hours of Giving rather than solely my organization.
  3. My organization has a website or Facebook page and will add the 35 Hours of Giving link to at least one of them.
  4. My organization's staff, board, volunteers, and donors will promote 35 Hours of Giving throughout the 35-hour event using social media.
Fundraising & Donations
  1. My organization will be listed on the 35 Hours of Giving website, and its name, logo, and photos may be used in promotional materials.
  2. GiveGab.com is the secure online platform that will process all contributions during the event.
  3. All donations made to my organization will be deposited into its endowment fund at the Capital Region Community Foundation within three business days via electronic transfer.
  4. I understand that my organization is responsible for fundraising efforts, and that 35 Hours of Giving does not guarantee donations or control donor choices.
  5. Donations made during the event count toward any incentives or matching funds, but donations made outside the event period do not.
Donor & Financial Policies
  1. In the event of a disputed donation, GiveGab will attempt to resolve it. If unsuccessful, the full disputed amount, processing fees, and a $15 dispute fee will be charged to my organization.
  2. Refunds for donations must be requested within four business days. Approved refunds will be deducted from my organization’s balance, including processing fees. Requests after this period must be handled directly between my organization and the donor.
  3. All donations made during the event are to the Capital Region Community Foundation for our endowment fund, meaning the Foundation can view donor information but will not retain or use it.
Additional Considerations

  1. Prize winners will be verified and finalized within two weeks after the event.
  2. Participation in 35 Hours of Giving does not constitute an endorsement of my nonprofit or its mission by the Capital Region Community Foundation, Giving Day partners, or sponsors.
